This section covers maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, sensors, M.O.L.E. Profiler Power Pack, Software, Wiring, and other parts of the system.

Warning

The following service and calibration instructions are for use by qualified personnel only. Refer to the Safety>Operators Safety Information prior to performing any service.

Service Troubleshooting:

Decide if the problem is with the Hardware, Communications, or Software.

If the problem occurs while attempting to log data, the Hardware may be faulty.

If the problem occurs while attempting to communicate between M.O.L.E. Profiler and the computer, the Communications links may be faulty.

If the problem occurs while attempting to use a software function, the software may be faulty.

Once it has been determined what item is causing the problem, refer to the appropriate service section. Start at the top of the list and work your way down.

:

1)0,0 or missing Dynamic X/Y Sensor values

oNo P.O. (process origin) spike detected.

oCheck P.O. spike on profile. Confirm it is there and it is 750°C (1,382°F) or higher.

oP.O. must be the first spike on the profile and at least 3 seconds long.

oX/Y Zone boundaries not set. Refer to topic Set Machine Information or Create new Machine for more information.

oFlux was used on Dynamic X/Y sensor wires.

Important Information

DO NOT apply flux to the Dynamic X/Y Sensor and pallet contacts: P.O. and Height sensors. It prevents good electrical contact and thus proper sensing. Flux should ONLY be applied to the Mini Fluxometer® mask area.

2)Erratic Measures:

oSelective solder fountain to aggressive or turbulent.

oDynamic X/Y sensor, P.O. sensor or Height sensor are dirty, bent or bridged by solder.

oFlux was used on P.O. sensor or Height sensor wires.

Important Information

DO NOT apply flux to the Dynamic X/Y Sensor and pallet contacts: P.O. and Height sensors. It prevents good electrical contact and thus proper sensing. Flux should ONLY be applied to the Mini Fluxometer® mask area.

3)Open or very high thermal temperatures:

oBad thermocouples or thermocouple connection on Dynamic X/Y sensor.
